Tympanosclerosis
Waldemar Narożny, Wiesław Konopka

Tympanosclerosis is a frequently occurring condition of tympanic
membrane and/or middle ear. Its etiopathogenesis has
not been fully determined and its treatment has not been fully
established.
The authors present an outline of the history of research on this
condition, its likely etiopathogenesis, frequency of occurrence,
diagnosed clinical variables, clinical features which increase the
possibility of correct presurgical diagnosis. The latter part of this
article is devoted to discussion on advantages and disadvantages
of particular ways of treatment.
