The ultrastructure of high endothelial cells of postcapillary venules in the pharyngeal tonsil
Marek Szczepański, Beata Szynaka, Janusz Dzięcioł, Jadwiga Małdyk

Postcapillary venules with characteristic high endothelial cells are found in tissues of all secondary lymphoid organs. The structure and function of high endothelial cells of postcapillary venules is different from endothelial cells of other vessels. High endothelial venules are the place of lymphocyte migration from the blood and they are important in lymphocyte recirculation.
