The lack of effect of heparin on IgE-dependent leukotrienes generation by peripheral blood leukocytes
Maryla Krasnowska, Wojciech Mędrala, Ryszard Krasnowski

The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of low molecular weight heparin on in vitro IgE dependent leukotrienes release by peripheral blood leukocytes obtained from atopic patients. Thirty three patients were enrolled to the study. Samples of leukocytes were preincubated with 3 different concentration of heparin - 25, 50 and 100ľ/ml and then stimulated with specific allergen at the presence of IL-3. The generation of leukotrienes was measured with CAST-ELISA. We demonstrated that preincubation of peripheral blood leukocytes with heparin didn't affect leukotrienes release.
