Hypersensitivity to topical corticosteroids is becoming increasingly recognized. Contact allergy to topical corticosteroids occurs more frequently than previously supposed. Ocular unwanted effects of oral corticosteroids are well recognized. Some epidemiologic study suggested an increased risk of glaucoma and cataracts. The autors presents a review of articles in the literature about adverse effects of topical nasal and inhaled corticosteroids.
