Contact allergy to antibiotics develops mainly in persons who have professional contact with drugs (nurses, veterinary surgeons and drug manufacturers), patients treated with topical antibiotics and patients with positive patch tests and systemic antibiotic treatment. In the paper contact sensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, streptomycin, neomycin, other aminoglicoside antibiotics, chloramphenicol and tetracyclines is discussed.
