The article discusses the careers and the most important scientific achievements of two Polish leading pediatricians: Henryk Brokman and Franciszek Groer, living in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and their contribution to the development of allergology.
Despite the long-standing friendship between them they often argued and presented different point of view on the same phenomena and their works. In their discussions they made use of arguments obtained from their own experiments and documented research. Their research in the field of clinical immunology served as the basis for the development of Polish allergology.
