Contact hypersensitivity to p-phenylenodiamine complicated by allergy to topical steroid treatment in child with tree pollinosis – case report
Cezary Chwała, Krzyszof Buczyłko, Aneta Wagner

P-phenylodiamine is a dye called “black henna”. During the last
few years the increase of allergy to this allergen is observed. The
higher frequency of contact dermatitis diagnosis to corticosteroids
topical drugs is also an alarming phenomenon. The authors
present the case of a 9-year-old boy with tree pollen allergy
diagnosis. Allergy to p-phenylodiamine complicated by allergy to
topical corticosteroids was diagnosed only after a few-years treatment
at specialist centers and after 4 hospitalizations. The patient
is currently treated by allergen specific immunotherapy.
