The XXI century has brought an entirely new look at the problem of prevention, especially pri-mary prevention. In particular, showed no evidence of a beneficial effect of prevention in the general population. This article reviews the contemporary literature on the prevention of allergic diseases, focusing mainly on dietary and immunological interventions. The authors discuss the benefits and risks of elimination diets during pregnancy and lactation, resulting from the admini-stration of milk formulas based on cow's milk protein hydrolysates, the delayed introduction of solid foods to the diet and the possibility of inducing tolerance to potential food allergens.
