Hypersensitivity to thiopental

The case of a 31-year-old woman who on two occasions experienced
cutaneous reactions to regional anesthesia administered during gynecological
procedures. The allergological work-up revealed late type
of hypersensitivity to thiopental. The alternative hypnotic drug was
chosen for the patient. This case documents that a hypnotic drug
commonly used during anesthetic procedures as thiopental may
cause late reaction.
