Regulation of IgE production
Maciej Chałubiński, Marek L. Kowalski

Discovery of IgE antibodies in 60’s of XX centaury led to the intensive
research on allergy mechanism development. Nowadays knowledge
of IgE role in allergic responses plays a very important role. Although
a lot is known about anti-IgE effectiveness in allergy treatment and
sophisticated methods of molecular biology enable to obtain IgE
synthesis in laboratories, complete mechanisms of IgE production
in human body still remains unknown. IgE generation is a result of
endogenous (cytokines, surface molecules) and environmental factors
(allergens, parasites, medicines) as well as complicated genetic
background. Understanding the mechanisms of specific IgE synthesis
may help to invent novel treatments of allergy.
