In the article we present the role of non-eosinophilic inflammation in patomechanism of asthma, concentrating on neutrophil part in this process. We discuss mechanisms underlying neutrophilic inflammation of bronchial mucosa in patient suffering from asthma based on up-to-date literature. We review the pathophysiology of influence of neutrophils to bronchial mucosa and consequences of the process. We focus on two of the most important groups of drugs in asthma: glicocorticosteroids and β2-mimmetics in patomechanism of non-eosinophilic inflammation and immunological effects of this process as well.
