 Laryngological problems in children

The lymphoid tissue within the Waldeyer’s ring provides an important immunological function. Hypertrophy of Waldeyer’s ring is common in children as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). The majority of children with OSAS improve following tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. Diagnosis of OSAS in children and adults has difference in criteria of disease and clinical picture. The second indication for tonsillectomy are chronic and recurrent tonsillar infections
